It’s Fall, Yall.
Alright, well maybe it’s not fall just yet. However, it is pretty close! As the weather has started to cool here in Augusta, it’s hard not to get excited for all the fall fun in the air. As we approach the upcoming season, we thought we would give you some serious fall home inspo. After all, is it not the best feeling to walk into stores smelling the scents of pumpkin spice and cinnamon?
1. DIY Fall Home Scent
Because who doesn’t want their house to smell like Thanksgiving everyday?
This beautiful idea comes from Jessica Autumn (no pun intended). We thought this was a great alternative to the artificial scents offered at retail stores. Also, it’s made with items you probably already carry in your home (as if you haven’t already heard the 1000+ ways to use coconut oil). We tried this with our wax burners at home and truth be told, it smells almost exactly like any artificial fall scent!
2. 5-Minute & 5 Dollar Autumn Centerpiece
Time to go pick up the wood from outside.
What a creative centerpiece for a dining room table, or maybe even a fireplace mantle? Honestly, we’re not sure why we didn’t think to grab some wood from outside in the first place! This ensemble, created by Jenna Burger, is fairly easy to make. Once you find a decent sized piece of wood, you simply drill holes and add tea lights! It’s a win-win for us!
3. Flowers that Look Good Year-Round
You know those fake flowers at your local dollar store? Who knew they could look good if you added some pinecones!
This idea is low-maintenance and functional year-round. Switching to winter? Change out the color scheme and (maybe) the pinecones. Overall, this piece is less than $10 dollars and looks great for any occasion!
4. Give Thanks to the Pumpkins!
Pumpkins are always great to use for months other than October!
Well, not literally give thanks to the pumpkins. However, we are pretty grateful for them because they make everything look better!
One of our favorite home blogs, Prudent Penny Pincher, shared this idea and it is very versatile. Go to your local pumpkin patch and pick up some of your favorite mini-pumpkins, some spray paint and some handy stencil letters and go to town! For the Halloween-lovers out there, you can change up the letters to say words like “scary” or “beware.” Then, change it to “thanks” the first day of November!
5. Mason Jars, Mason Jars & Mason Jars
Adding mason jars are always a win-win for quick decor items.
As you have probably already seen on Pinterest, mason jars are the answer to everything (not literally, of course). This idea, also shared by Prudent Penny Pincher, may be the cheapest of all the options mentioned so far. If you already have mason jars laying around your home, all you will need is a small pile of fake leaves! The possibilities are endless with this idea.
6. A Wreath Makes the Home Complete!
If you do not already have a college football wreath on display….
Remember the fake fall leaves used on the mason jars? You will probably have plenty left to use, so what better way to use them? This fall wreath inspired by House of Hepworths is the base for all fall wreath options out there. That’s a blog post for another day!
7. DIY Fall Leaf Bowl
If you can’t seem to find any use for that random glass bowl in your house.
This idea by DIYJoy is also another great idea to make use of any extra fake leaves you have around the house.
